GREAT NEWS!!!!!

FINALLY, IT APPEARS THAT TLC WILL BE GETTING THE NEW BUILDING. I SAY "APPEARS" BECAUSE UNTIL WE HAVE CASH IN HAND, I SUPPOSE SOMETHING COULD HAPPEN. AUGUST 8 IS CLOSING DAY AND WE HOPE TO HAVE THE BUILDING COMPLETED BEFORE THE END OF SEPTEMBER. PRETTY EXCITING FOR US AND ALL OUR LITTLE (AND BIG) BIRDIES. I WILL TRY TO KEEP YOU UP TO DATE AS THINGS PROGRESS AND PICTURES WHEN THEY BECOME AVAILABLE.
WE ARE ALWAYS HAPPY TO HAVE SUGGESTIONS, DONATIONS, VOLUNTEERS, AND COMMENTS.
TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS, AS WE WANT THE WORD TO GET OUT.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT IN OUR
LONG STRUGGLE TO GET THIS DONE.

Phone Call.

Will the lady that called about the bare eyed cockatoo (from Canada) please call again. My phone did not save your number or email message and I have no way of getting back to you.

NEXT:
We have not given up. Trying many avenues and that takes up so much time I can't get to this. Of course if something happened I would jump right on it. Let me repeat, we are anxious to hear your ideas.. If we can get this new building it will help so many birds that not only need a home but will live as birds, able to fly, forage, play, pick the area they wish to be in. Please, keep us in your prayers and send any suggestions you may have. This HAS to happen. There are many feathered ones here, counting on it. Plus me. I will try to do better on the blog effort.
Thank you all.

Disappointing News!

Well, after our "Patient Wait", we just received the news that the grant was denied. So, I guess we will try again, somewhere else.
If anyone out there has any ideas, we could sure use them. We need some time to get our feet back on the ground (couple of days) and we will be ready to tackle the next one or two. Please keep us in your prayers. We have many birds on a waiting list and really want to get this done. Thank you.

What's new now?

Wow!!! where does the time go? We have been so busy trying to get our "Toystore" open we have neglected to keep up with the blog.
The best news is: Our Toystore is open!! Finally.
We will be adding new toys all along so keep looking and if you are looking for something specific drop us a line.
We are submitting our first application for a grant, so say a prayer or two. We really want to get this building done before the end of the year. Anyone that wants to get involved, please contact us. We need all the help we can get. Also, it is most important to get the "word" out. The more people that know the more likely we will get the help and $$ we need. Thank you to all of you from all the birdies here a TLC.

Next Step!

Just to keep everybody up to date. We have been gathering bids for all the aspects of the new building and will be applying for grants etc in the very near future. A new brochure is at the printers now and will be distributed locally and anywhere that has an interest in this venture. We will be opening an online Bird Toy Store very soon, Great Toys!! Great Prices! so watch for that as all proceeds go to TLC and this project.
We welcome your comments and suggestions, the more heads the better the idea bank.
Thank you,

From the President

We have outgrown our present facility and have great plans for building a big new building for the birds. It will be in three sections with the center section being 30ft wide and 50 ft. long. This will house the macaws that are flighted and will have lots of perches but plenty of room to fly. One of the features will be a special perch that when they land on it, water comes on and "voila" a shower. This will be good for them so they can bathe when they want to and not when we decided it is bath time. It will be good for us as now we shower each bird individually, which is really time consuming. The two side sections will house smaller birds, Amazons etc on one side and the other section will be for special needs birds. We are working hard to make cleaning the facility easy & efficient.
We welcome any ideas you may have. We always need volunteers.
Thanks for checking in and we will keep you posted on our progress.
